Current Projects
Together with our partner organizations we aim to widen access to welfare and education and through the preservation of our unique cultural heritage and participation in the arts, enhance the lives of people for many generations to come.
UNHCR
We are proud to support UNHCR’s humanitarian response in Sudan and beyond. And we are pleased to announce that Aarti Lohia, trustee and chair of the SP Lohia Foundation, has joined the Advisory Board of @UKforUNHCR.
This new chapter reflects our commitment to refugee protection and humanitarian response. We are humbled to play a part in UNHCR’s global mission to ensure that every displaced person has the right to safety, dignity, and a chance at a better future.
Artangel and the commission by Noémie Goudal
SPLF supported Artangel’s new project, The Story of Fixity, by French artist Noémie Goudal. Presented within a railway arch at Borough Market, this three-channel installation explores water—colourless and scentless, yet powerful enough to shape entire ecosystems.
Through shifting palettes and layered imagery, Goudal moves between day and night, science and imagination, revealing landscapes in constant transformation. Bringing together painting, photography, and moving image, the work challenges how we perceive nature and its fragile states of balance.
November 2025 – January 2026
Serpentine
SP Lohia Foundation is Headline Supporter of ‘Remembering’, the first institutional solo exhibition of Arpita Singh outside of India. The exhibition was open to the public for nearly six months, from March to July 2025. This exhibition brings selected works that cover the full breadth of Singh’s practice, ranging from large-scale oil paintings to more intimate watercolours and ink drawings. Singh’s experimentation with colour and styles of painting highlight social upheaval, humanitarian crisis and the experience of women in an evolving democracy. Supporting Singh’s work on a major international art platform is in consonance with the Foundation’s commitment to bring global recognition for deserving living artists from less represented regions.
Jumbled Alphabet at the South London Gallery’s
SP Lohia Foundation was the Lead Donor of Nairy Baghramian: Jumbled Alphabet at the South London Gallery’s Main Gallery and Fire Station Galleries. This exhibition marked the artist’s first major solo show in a London institution in 14 years. It features sculptures from her ‘Misfits’ series, first shown at Galleria Arte Moderna, Milan, inspired by children’s assembly toys and the concept of dis-function. On display from from 27 September 2024 to 12 January 2025, visitors were invited to interact with the works, challenging conventional museum norms.
The Children's Trust
S.P. Lohia Foundation (SPLF) supports The Children’s Trust’s Special Equipment Appeal (2022).
Since 2018, this initiative has been driven by Sohum Lohia, a UK chess champion and son of Mr. Amit Lohia and Mrs. Aarti Lohia. Through this, SPLF has supported The Children’s Trust in its work with children affected by brain injuries and neurodisabilities.
The Children’s Trust, the only organisation of its kind in the UK, provides specialist rehabilitation, education, respite care, and step-down care enabling children to transition from hospital to home and live their best possible lives.
