The Prajña Scholarship programme was launched in 2023 and aims to support children of Indorama’s extended family of employees to attend top universities globally. The scholarship will cover tuition fees and living expenses for students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance.

‘Prajña’ is a Sanskrit word meaning the highest and purest form of wisdom, intelligence and understanding.

As stated by our founder, Mr S.P. Lohia, “Education is the most powerful weapon to fight poverty and social disorders.” We hope that the Prajña Scholarship programme will enable more students to reach their full potential.

Scholarship Programme

  1. The Scholarship Program shall be called the “INDORAMA SCHOLAR” and shall be managed by such persons as may be appointed by the Foundation in its absolute discretion.
  2. A recipient of a scholarship awarded under the Scholarship Program (“Scholar”) shall receive 50% of the expenses which he/she incurs (or is expected to incur) towards:
    • Tuition fees for the program for which the scholarship was sought, subject to a maximum period of four academic years; and
    • Reasonable living and travel expenses.

Grants will be disbursed by the Foundation each academic year. In very exceptional cases, the Selection Committee may award more than 50% of the expenses which a Scholar incurs (or is expected to incur) in a specific academic year.

  3. Unless otherwise stated, all scholarships awarded under the Scholarship Program shall be bond-free.
  4. If the grant from the Foundation is insufficient to meet the total financial expenses of the Scholar, the Scholar may obtain loans and/or grants from other institutions as well. However, the Foundation must be notified of any application for or award of such additional loans and/or grants.

Congratulations to Humoyun Umarov on being awarded the scholarship from Prajña Scholar.
